rob you have probly got more experience at this than myself but,

work out your power to weight ratio then work out what times it would put you in,

and ummm 351 is a big motor ive got 2 of them, and i think the front would be too heavy if it were to go in a TA22

    best of luck

    Trick mansweto wheelstands

if u wanna stay with the toyota theme, what about a PSI on a 1UZ

if u want a blown 454, who really cares if its a wagon, its gonna go 8's anyway

and if u are gonna have a blown big block u will definatly trap more than 140mph, so a chute is a definate

    what about a 440 Mopar
    JZX83+ FMIC+ Twin 2.5" dumps to 3"+ FCD+ 2800rpm stallie+ 14psi - LSD - good tyres = 12.85 @105.58

i reckon you should rip the V8 out of the supra, stuff it in a TC cortina, cut some decent times with it before selling it to some crazy bogan and then put a proper jap motor in the MA61.

You might want to get a tape measure out if you're planning on putting a big block into a MS55. Apparently the 1UZ won't fit because of the double wishbone setup taking a lot of the engine bay real estate, so I can't see how a big block with the necessary 2.25-2.5 inch primaries is going to fit in there.

Actually come to think of it I'm pretty sure all of the full chassis Toyota passenger cars have dual wishbones up front and not a huge amount of width to the engine bay.

The MS55 also has a coil spring rear end with three trailing links and a watts linkage if it's anything like the MS53. I think the only leaf spring variant of the ms5x is the MS57 wagon.

Hmm, you say you want to be different. That package of big block supercharged motor, 9" full spool diff, powerglide trans, roll cage, maybe a chute has been done many times before. The only thing that is different is the body in my books.

For starters, I would take a good long read of the ANDRA rule book and work out what class you want to race in. By the sounds of it, most likely super sedan which ranges from 10.99 to (I think MR mad is the quickest at 6.7's) Read all the rules and then work out your budget.

Determine an approximate ET you are aiming for. Determine an approximate weight of the vehicle and then determine how much power you will need. 1000hp in a tubbed, slicked vehicle should go a lot quicker than 9's pending weight.

    Good luck

BTW just read that maybe a chute will be required. Haha. If you are run 9's or 140mph you need a shoot. Street cars like Shanes are on the edge of needing a shoot with a baby 2.5L so with a monster 460cui and a charger, slicks and tubs I think you will definitely need one. Heck, I was thinking of getting one myself well before 140mph as a just in case type of thing.

Have you done this or seen it done before? I'd think the transaxle setup on an Alfa would be a pita to replace/muck around with, and the engine bay isn't exactly generous.

BTW Robbo I do know you've been mucking about with the 302 powered ma61 for a quite a long time now - has it hit the strip yet?

I've owned a few of these and the last one i turbo charged , wouldn't muck around with the transaxle , just go a 9" with a ladder bar rear to keep it simple.

The chev would with with a bit of a massage nothing a plasma cutter cant fix
They do run a V6 in em remember

A mate had onw with a mildly worked v6. Wasn't that quick but sounded great!

In a 79 model you could probably just run the V8 exhaust out through the rust holes in the guards!
