Dude why dont you just buy 4 to 5 stud spacers. any import / drift shop would get these for you and in various thickness to make up for ofset size. changing brakes and diffs to fit wheels is just stupid you have been reading to much hot 4's.

Well the big why not in answer to this, is that spacers are illegal. Why people spend alot of time, effort and cash on a car building it to a high standard to then go and run spacers is beyond me.. I question which option is stupid my friendOriginally Posted by strat
Rather than buying wheels to suit using spacers, just buy the right wheels to start with![]()

lol using spacers IS the product of reading too much hot 4's, while a smartly researched brake and hub upgrade is the result of common sense and a whole lotta toymods loveOriginally Posted by strat

Oooh i bet there are a lot of things on your car are illegal. we use spacers on the track to change the handling of the car and never had a problem with billet spacers. Whell if you are fitting anything bigger than 16" wheels that would be illegal too. How can you justify re-working the whole suss just to fit some fucking wheels. just sell em and buy something that fits. And to you rob most of the cars in hot 4's could do with some spacers on there faggot chrome wheels. Changing shit to fit some wheels is not common sense common sene is buying wheels that fit!!!

Oooh, I bet there is nothing on my car that is illegal.
I know, coz its 100% engineered, 100% signed off, and 100% passed the pits.
Yes the rims are over 16", yes they are wider than 7", yes the 5 stud conversion is 100% legal.
I can justify it because there are fuck all decent rims out there in 4 stud RWD offset that will clear Skyline brakes.
And like I said above, I'm not the only one who has done this, and there would be a dickload of other people in the same boat who feel the same way.

I cant see these wheels that this guy has for his RA40 being that good that he has to re work his suss. And i strongly doubt that he is going to get his car engineered with all these mods. so more than likely he is going to get defected anyway so why not do it the ezy way. And let me tell you you havent been looking hard enough for rims! There are so many wheels in 4 x 114.3 im many different offsets you just have to know were to look.

Oh, there are plenty of 4x114.3 wheels in many different offsets.
I never said there wasn't.
Try to find some 17x8 or 17x9 in +20 to +30 offset, that will clear the 4 spot Skyline GTR brakes.
You are now down to about 1% of the previously available 4 stud rims.
I know, coz I scoured about 5 forums every week for well over 6 months.
In that whole time I found about 10 sets of rims that would actually fit, but they all looked crap.
Sure, I could have gotten Simmons, but I didn't want to spend those $$ on rims I don't think look nice.

i find it amusing that you keep talking about reworking teh suspensionz to bolster your point when the MS65 hub and bearing fits straight onto the RA40 stub axle with NO modification whatsoever.Originally Posted by strat

One other key factor for me putting 5 stud on the front of mine was I wanted a stronger diff with LSD available. MS112 disc brake rear meant 5 stud, easier to swap front than redrill back as I wanted to upgrade brakes anyway.
