    umm, seen the back of a 3 series BMW lately?
    Or a truck?

    How can an ADR prohibit their use? The only thing I can see being the problem is that an LED doesn't throw the light through the same arc that an incandescant globe does, but that's mainly for the higher wattage ones, like 25W or so.

    BMWs and trucks can get away with it, because being a mass produced vehicle they vehicle as a whole is assessed for ADR compliance.

    Thus the car is ADR compliant as it is made from the factory.

    When you are modifying a car, you are bound by the individual ADRs for each modification - which often dont match with what you see on factory produced vehicles.

    Take the wing mirror indicators on Mercs for example. Check out the ADRs on that!

    something to note here river,

    youll only need to have one 555 timer if you decide to go with that route. the factory wiring (for old toyotas at least) is

    ____________________________-RH stalk switch - RH indicator circuit
    batt +12v -> fuse -> flasher unit -> |- hazard switch < ...............................> ground
    ____________________________-LH stalk switch - LH indicator circuit

    messy and all!

    so find the 2 wires that connect to the flasher and insert the 555 there

    something intersting though is that jaycar sell pre-fab'ed flashing 10mm LED's
    although you might have troubles if they start to flash out of sync after a while.
    hello

    Hi,

    Thanks. Using one 555 circuit is better, and you can chuck out the bokka!!!!
