Random, coz the ignitor/coil setup is quite different
it works!
doesnt run very well but im sure if you were stuck you could make it work.
the AFM spring might be making it have silly AFR's.
this is only for the gen3 1ggte and the 7mge with grey ecu plugs. it plugged straight in.
a bit of trivia

coil/igniter paack dont look that different to be honest.
unless you wer thinking 7MGTE?
AFM's are identical apart from a different spring rate.
ive also run the 1ggte with stock ecu with a 7mge AFM.....it pinged. however that was expected given the 7m AFM spring is more taunt.
hello
No 1GGTE.
It has a 2nd return wire to the ECU for verification.
Its apparently the only ignitor that does it.
The tacho output is also different to the 7MGE ignitor (requires a booster)

if i were stuck i know i would not try it and fuk an engine
oh sorry its a 1gg or 7m so who cares heheheheeheheeh
must be hard up if you can afford a nice car but cant afford the proper ecu
i think brett's just bored ... plus he's collecting 7mge hardware for some obscure reason

lucky i didnt try the 7mge afm on my 1ggte then![]()

Congradulations, you have successfully passed BHG germs to the 1G.
Interesting, did you go anything above idle? I would have thought they would have been completely incompatable
Beige.... The new Black!!!
it ran for about 10 seconds and then stalled. pretty much just above idle. but i assumed this was just because the AFR's are way rich and fuel begins to accumulate until it stalls
hello
While this is great to know
The question I am asking myself is "WHY"....
I'm never going to put a 7mge ECU on a 1ggte...
(cruz, the reason it may work with the igniter is that the 7mge ecu doesn't need the second verification signal? and the output from the igniter that goes to the dash doesn't go to the ecu as far as I'm aware?? just ideas...)...
And charles...his name is Brett(I know you think dodgey electrics -> and your mind jumps to the name Ben tho
)

DOH!
... it's a word association that i'm still trying to escape from ...
I nearly tried this when I was doing the last swap in the sprinter by accident. I had the car up on stands with the bonnet off, and the new engine on the ground.whilst getting every thing together i mistakenly picked up the 7mge ECU and plugged it in to the loom on the new engine. I was surprised that it plugged in. I was tempted to plug it into the sprinter and see what happened but with my luck i would have fried the wiring or screwed the ECU or some such.
Beige.... The new Black!!!
i wouldnt be suprised if they only changed the fuel/spark maps and a couple components to build the 7MGE ecu. (depending on which was built first)
all the sensors look the same, same ISCV motor, same injectors.
i guess it makes sense for them not to reinvent the wheel every time they make an ECU
hello
Good work for tryingI suppose it's something that could be expanded on, in some strange twisted universe!
Trivia like this is just randomly fun!
