Default does the head need to be shaved??

my head gasket on my 3tgte is leaking at the top of the timing cover, if i pull the head off to replace the gasket will i need to get the head shaved?? the car has never gotten over 100 degrees since i put this head on. so i dont think it would have warped but im not 100% on that.

    thanks

there should be no need to get it shaved, just need to make sure you clean all the old gasket stuff off, if you need to scrape it off, make sure you use something that isnt goingto dig into the metal (ie. credid cards are good for this)

    Hi,

Or you can use steel wool and eucalyptus oil to clean off the old gasket.
