Lucky youI've just learned to drive around it, it's going to be a revelation with the new ECU when it doesn't do it

In saying this, i have a feeling my TPS may be ever so slightly advanced coz, very rarely, i dont get overrun coming off the throttle - it will run at an idle duty.
Does an ECU this old use delta duty values to work out whether to initiate overrun as opposed to a "next to no throttle" low speed cruise? I dont know that much about this...
meh...

now for my next trick
will a gen2 ECU and loom run a gen3 1GGTE?
injectors from gen 2 are also needed from what ive read.

what is this mod and what does it do... my 1ggze arrives next week so i want all the handy hints and info i can get... thanks

You can run a Gen3 engine on a Gen2 ECU and loom, but you'll need the injectors (and ballast resistor), and you'll need the different coolant temp sensors. Everything else is pretty much plug and play.

jcmf do you know if the dizzy is the same b/w the gen2 and gen3
if i think about the 4AGE 86kw and 100kw motors (with green injectors funnily enough) the dizzys are different...
The dizzy is the same. I've interchanged them all.

gold. better find injectors and ballast resistor.
Here's an Easy reference Link to the Gen 3 1G-GTE wiring Diagram used to wire up my RA28. Its in English too

What should the compression reading be for the 1g-gte. I was not able to find a workshop manual for it. I was only able to find the 7m-gte's compression reading which should be 142 PSI According to the TSRM.

But I wasn't able to find anything for the 1g-gte
Z2TT,
My gen 3 1G-GTE dry tested at 175psi in each cylinder. Thats a totally stock engine of course. Remember you need to do the test on a warm engine with the throttle wide open.
I wouldn't worry to much about what you get as long as its even.

Stupid Question time.
What is the 1G's factory Redline?
And can anyone confrim compression ratios ? I beleive 1G-GZE is 8.5:1 and 1G-GTE is 8.9:1 ?

my inaccurate tacho led me to believe it was 7200rpm... could be wrong
