what would be the easiest/cheapest way around it?
how much are the stand alone ignition ecu's worth?

because im guessing sourcing the part from jap land would be long hard and quite expensive...

i wish i had injection manifolds for it, my carbies hit my brake cyl. and i dunno where i could move it to withot modifying everything..

i just wanted the ke10 to be a cheap project!!
haha luckily now i have realised that no ke10/11 with a different motor is easy to do
    cheers for the help guys!

Surely it wouldn't be hard to adapt the internals of a mechanical distributor (eg 22R-E) to a 4A-GE distributor body?

nah i wouldn't think so norbie.
my old dizzy type for my 4AGE ran some sort of mitsu setup in the guts.
    i've got about 10 4AGE dizzies i should have a look

you can actually run a 4AGE dizzy using an ignitor off something like a 2TG or whatever to break the spark you just get no advance thats all.

I ran mine for about five years or so without any advance. Just an ignitor to make it all work, and a careful balance of spark advance so it'd just start when hot.
26deg was the magic number, though if you can get something to give it advance it'd be a lot better.

Scorcher in victoria made the one i had on my carbed 4ag.
It was a points type deal, tho i went around and asked about a electric conversion for it, they would sell me a crane kit for 300, or build me a new full electric, mechanical advance one for 400. But this is going 5 years back, so I have no idea what they would charge today.

Although if i knew what was involved, EFI all the way.

so you can use the ignitor and get no advance? what will that do? any problems? will it run like crap, whats the benifit of advance?

and how would you connect an ignitor up? all i know about the dizzy is that there are two electric thingos hangin off it that look like like they need to be plugged in somewhere...
what do i do with those?

Just a note on advance's, all Weber manuals recommend NO vacuum advance, mechanical only.

Thats interesting, could explain why Ahrensys 5k runs better without vac advance.... Maybe we shall try locking it soon.
