Ahh, and those are good brakes all around?
I was thinking which brakes to use and those will be easy as to source.
Thanks man.
The ST141/RT142 rear brakes have an internal handbrake setup and will kill the handbrake thats on the MS112 diff...
Internal handbrake is perfect for the dorifto...![]()

Just curious whats wrong with the MS112 handbrake? Got one in my KE70 ute but not driven on yet, still need to hook up cables etc so of its a pivot point issue I might have a play with it. From looking at it I will need to do something about the leverage ratios compared to how it was setup in the Crown.Originally Posted by twentyEight

whats the difference between the 2. i havn't looked that hard at it yet but they look similar, unless its the lever setup that comes out of the backing plate that is different.Originally Posted by twentyEight

I thought the MS112 was drum braked, which would make them alot different being that the ST141/RT142 rear brakes on the MX13 diff give an internally handbraked disc brake diff...
MS112 has a internal hand braked disc.
the flange on the end of the axle tube is very different from the MX13/RA40/RA60/RA23/rt142 pattern
hello
Well, that's a totally different kettle of fish then...
And looking over what I typed, I meant to say that the ST141/RT142 has an internal handbrake setup and will kill the handbrake thats on the Tarago diff that Wedged'86 got...
It seems that I led myself down the garden path by typing out the wrong diff...![]()
Haha, that's ok man, even the most perfect of us make mistakes. (It happens to me on rare occasions too).
By the way i'm loving the info. The second rebirth of this thread is just as useful as the first.

The MX13's housing, will take the, MA61's LSD centre, & the RT142's disc set up ..
cheers

I know this is an old thread,
But did you ever make up that jig for the AE86?
Interested to see how it goes if so, as i may change my mind from doing an R31 diff conversion

RA40 is supposed to be the same as AE86
so GA61's jig should work
