do the valves always have to be done? also how much can be taken off with the traditional abrassive paste?
if there is a score or a pit, get them reseated
if they are just a bit shiny you get away with doing them with the paste
but IMHO if you are going to the cost of rebuilding a motor, why cheap out on the last step?
