Cheers River, i'm give you some rep but the site will probably collapse from the load

1ZZ looks the most practical way and will FI will produce solid numbers. A 1ZZ-FED with the 1ZZ-FE crank would be fun to experiment with but i'll stand on my previous statement that those days are over for me

2ZZ is clearly the ultimate in ZZness but sourcing and replacement look damaging to the wallet, not to mention the 11.5:1 comp ratio makes FI just that little bit more challenging.

    The search commences

BTW anyone know the bellhousing pattern they use in the kit cars (yeah i'll start searching, sheesh)

    elise 240R 2ZZ
    http://www.sandsmuseum.com/cars/elis...texige240.html
    http://www.elises.co.uk/models/s2_ex...0R/details.pdf

but still uses a roots SC

main difference to think about between 1ZZ and 2ZZ is the difference in bore and stroke?

    http://www.sandsmuseum.com/cars/elis...ne/toyota.html

    also, look for this paper

    SAE Technical Papers
    Document Number: 2000-01-0671
Title: Development of the High-Speed 2zz-Ge Engine
Takasuke Shikida - Toyota Motor Corp.
Yosikatu Nakamura - Toyota Motor Corp.
Tamio Nakakubo - Toyota Motor Corp.
Hiroyuki Kawase - Toyota Motor Corp

there was a free version around somewhere..

and here's the 1ZZ development paper

id go one of the old school 13b's - the really loud ones that use hugely oversized carbies - u can get huge power out of those if u can pay the fuel bill....plus they sound so horn!!

You can combine the stroke of the 1ZZ with the bore of the 2ZZ to get a bit under 2L...
...but since you said you didn't wanna pull the engine apart, just ignore me

Yeah that's what i meant earlier, messed up my engine models.

To be honest the voice of reason keeps pointing out the 20V option. Cheap, a known quantity, will perform well....kinda hard to argue, damn you voice of reason!!

What were those early Ferrari 8's, they were down around that?

Actually there's that British firm that do the V8 from 2 bike engines..can't recall what model GXR1100 or something. 10,000rpm redline and grunt to burn....would also burn a very substantial hole in my wallet!!

How about a 2L V8 made by joining 2 of those new Ducati 1L V4's? That will give you some ridiculous HP from a 2L N/A.
    ... and light too!

    Hi,

Just whack an 18R-G in there. Not only will that give you unlimited street cred and vehicular performance yet to be measured by mankind, but it will show you have gonads the size of beach-balls.

Come on River, you are not only preaching to the converted but to one who had 18RG cred before most here were born

If i could find the turbo monster i built years ago i'd give it a shot...maybe i can 'borrow' the 2.4 stroker i just slotted in Zane's 28

No denying their all conquering power potential but the KE10 would appreciate one taking a trip to Jenny Craig
