    Default CT26 onto 3TGTE

Hey guys looks like I will be running with the CT26 on my car for now but I just wanted to find out some info from people who have done this conversion before.Yes I have searched and have come up with the following threads in the old Toymods forum.

    http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.p...de1d21e7849a93

The main question I couldnt find answered however was wether the turbo will foul on anything in the engine bay or existing turbo manifold etc?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nath

    Naffan!

I found the following thread on the toyota3tc forums, which has a few pics. The guy ended up ditching the CT26 and going for a custom manifold and T28 turbo cos he thought the CT26 was too weeny for him

    some pics from the thread:

that topic is still active, so perhaps you can register on those forums and see what the owner has to say about fitting a CT26 to the stock 3T-GTE manifold.

    Hi Nath,

To answer your specific question... It fits fine in my TA-22 engine bay & doesn't foul anything. The trick to getting it fitting cleanly is to ensure that you rotate the housing correctly.

    My tips for this conversion:

    - If you're using the "oval holes" method... while you've got the die-grinder out, why not match port & flow the manifold to the turbo.

    - If you can.. get an exhause flange (& gasket) to go with the turbo, I use the standard 7M-GTE dump pipe & cut it to get the flange to weld up to my new dump pipe - saves a lot of stuffing around.

    - Make sure the feed pipe from the block clears nicely before you get it all bolted back together. Given my engine is mounted as low & far back as possible, I actually found it easier to do this raised a little on the hoist & while jacking the engine up from underneath to give me some more room to play.

The last 3T-GTE + CT-26 conversion I did was on my LPG powered machine, that produced around 140rwkw at around 13psi boost.

While it all works well & I could wind some more boost in it & get it closer to 180+rwkw, I'm actually looking to sell this whole Engine/Turbo complete setup to make room for another engine project soon.

    Good luck with the conversion.
    3T-GTE.
