RA65 Wiper problem

The intermittant wiper function does not work. You move the wiper stick to int and the wipers don't do anything. Also when you turn the wipers onto continuous and switch them off while they are still moving they will just stop where they are.

Is this a fuse/relay? If so where is it located?

Wouldn't hurt to try, but spray contact cleaner on the contact areas on the wiper stalk thingo? It's amazing how much gunk accumilates there over the years.

yeah I might try that. Also the stalk that controls the high beams doesn't work when you push it forward to stay on, only if you hold it back yourself so it may have the same problem.

sounds like you have multiple dirty contact, will pay to clean them and while you are at it, maybe grease up the little ball bearings on both stalks.

The fault will be in the "self park" circuit of your wipers.
When you switch the wipers to the intermittent setting, the intermittent wiper module triggers the wiper motor for only a second or so, just enough to engage the "self park" circuit, which then takes over and completes the sweep.
The self park is controlled by a set of contacts in the wiper motor and completes its circuit through the wiper switch.

So a new wiper motor should fix it? Or is it possible to open the motor and fix it?

Could be the wiper motor or the switch. Try cleaning the contacts in the switch as others have said and also check the contacts in the wiper motor (yeah they can normally be opened and repaired).
Also check the wiring between the wiper motor and switch.
Take care when working on the wiper arms or linkages with the ignition on as the self park circuit may be triggered and things (read fingers or hands etc) can get caught in the linkages.
