    As far as I know the 1JZ's are still being produced in Japan today aswell.

    1jz's are not produced anymore since no more jzx110's. Now mark x's.

    I agree with wilbo re the pcv valve. Either way, just fit an oil catch can and you have “upgraded” to a gen 1.5 or whatever you want to call it.

    Vvti 1jz make more torque at lower rpm because of the vvti, different turbo setup, increased compression and the fancy coil pack covers

    Vvti engines aren’t as popular for modifiers as the only option to control them is piggy backs or an epensive motec.

    Piggy Backs limit the mods as you must retain the AFM, which maxes out.

    Autronic is another stand alone that can do it.

    I beleive AEM in the US can do a system too, but its about the price of MoTeC, if not more.

    I run a VVTi version off an Autronic SM2.
    Anything is possible with a little ingenuity - mind you an SM2 is not cheap either.
