RCA to raise strut .... lower the control arm ?
or is it minor enough to *massage* clear?

haha just went out and had a play again, turns out there was a random nut between the disk and the dust sheild, jaming it against the LCA. whoops. did everyone else get funny looks when they asked for the diameter of the disks to be machined down?
No funny looks here, my machinist knows not to ask me why, lest i launch into an explanation
Usually my explanations look like the first 4 posts in this thread.

I take it everyone here has thought up a million way this could be done and this is the best option available at a reasonable price and hence its popularity?

damn... well off to the wreckers for a 6th week in a row. its too damn hot!
For those interested (ie. Silly Car Chick) in sourcing parts for making their own coil overs - Noltec (02) 9980 9777 sell kits for DIY projects.
I have no relationship/experience with them so can't vouch for their products, there may be others - just remembered reading an article in Zoom (Issue 93) where they gave a generic step by step outline of what is required (plus photos) - it is not specific to Celica's whilst Takai's is.
Ive got the Noltec coilover kit on my struts.Originally Posted by GRUMPIRA28

any idea of the costs of the noltec coilover (or similar) DIY kits?
I'll do some research, send an email off, see what they get back to me with.

I may be going this way ..... just getting the thing roadworthy then possibly coil overs down the track.

I did look at those ones, but thought it was a little pricey considering you can get the full kit with springs for the TA22 from technotoytuning....
http://www.technotoytuning.com/productdetail.php?p=574
They work out to be around AU$250 (US$199) but the shipping will set you back at least AU$50, depending on what service you want.
I figure it's down to personal preference of which brand you go with, and what you are willing to pay.
Im researching coilover kits and springs in AU at the moment, to see if I can get the stuff any cheaper here.... but I may end up buying the whole lot from Technotoytuning as Im buying the adjustable cambertops and upper spring hats from them anyway....
