I dont quite understand the question... but if your asking what caliper is in that photo, its the same as mine, came from a LN106.Originally Posted by cri_ag

Your struts are the problem, not the caliper. I just found the same with my NZ new TT132 struts after being offered some Surf calipers for free and measuring up the caliper bolt spacing. My struts are approx 130mm which sounds the same as yours, 40mm wider than the Hilux spacing. So I either need to get different struts or make an adaptor, at this stage I am probably going to do an adaptor and run SW20 calipers and discs as I already have them.Originally Posted by cri_ag

found the problem, there are different bolt spacings between the ln106 models, got the right ones from the wrecker now hopefully (they now bolt onto my strut!)
Just a quick note about the brake upgrade. As i remembered today with most front brake upgrades you are increasing the brake caliper and disc size and hence the heat holding capacity.
However, the rears usually stay the same. One problem with this as i was reminde of today is that it is very easy after a lot of heavy driving (i.e. through the hills on a 36* day) you can heatsoak your rear brakes fairly easily, and even cook the pads.
Needless to say the Cressida (BA/R33 upgrade) needs new rear pads now. Just a word of warning.

you make a good point i might go to disks when i get my diff put back together.... just need to find suitable disks and calipers.... thanks for the heads up
Just a queston for takai, what would be your pefered shock for this upgrade? the car is track only. i cant seem to find anyting race worthy.

Something along the lines of the Tokico HTS 102 or KYB AGX as an entry level race shock. If you are going to take it to the next level then Billies or Ohlins if you can get them.

90mm mate....
He is referring to about 5 posts ago. The boltspacing on the calipers is 90mm.

hey fellas,
ive installed the c/p/h in the ta22 using:
- 2003- 06 camry brake master cylinder thanks to
http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14424
I spoke to YOGI8U and he recomended a trecel one, which i might check out.
- As mentioned before, if the strut is not shortened when installed, the front of the car rises to about stock height even with lowered king springs.
- you can use the ta22 upper strut suspension supports and spring seats on the corona strut.
Any ways for those who decide to go braided brake lines, i went to Earls performance and Race brakes to piece this puzzle. This is what fits on my ta22 so i think it would be the same for other celicas/corollas.
Earls
part no.
- 600103 [-3 straight hose end, plated] (adaptor for the end of the hose) $11.25ea
- 351-03 [adaptor -3 mate to m 10x1.0] (adaptor for caliper to braided line fitting) $11.25ea
- 600003 [speed flex -3] (the braided hose) $18/metre
EDIT:
- 600503 [-3 angle banjo h/e, adj,plate] (banjo fitting) $18.75ea
- 977517 [banjo bolt stl m10 x 1.0 single] (banjo bolt) $8.25ea
Race brakes
part no.
- 242-03 [fittings] (adaptor for the other end of the braided hose. The adaptor on this end connects to the metal brake tube that pokes through from the engine bay to the inside of the wheel well/arch) $11.4991 (Earls does not make this fitting thats why i went this path)
went to bunnings and bought some 3inch range hood metal/alloy ducting for about $28.79ea and started experimenting with them under the car to help circulate air to the brakes.
As for problems, the only one i got was i needed an elbow at the caliper because the hose hits the sway bar at full lock. I will source out this part in the next following days.
EDIT: it only really hits when the car is jacked up and the wheels are sagging, so i would think it is okay for for driving. Also i have fitted on mine babjo fittings updated part no. in the above
list
just a reminder to use crimped braided brake lines and not screw fittings as these are not legal (rta/adr approved) for everyday road use as ive been told. (but between you and me, what they dont know wount hurt them hehehe..)
if you have any Q's fire away.
