C'mon Joel,
He doesn't have a girly 4a in there.... he has a mighty 1G... maybe one of the mightiest 1G's of all time....![]()
just kidding....
tho traction may be a concern with 195.
i think you are going to have to lip the guards.....
Cheers

The other thing you can try is some 195s, a narrower tyre will stretch & give you a bit more clearance. I've seen plenty of 8" wide wheels with 195s, so 7s should be no problem.

Panel beater will be able to roll the gaurd, Linden will be able to sort out a custom pan hard rod, tire shop will be able to fit smaller tires...

If anyone is interested i am looking to sell my volvo. It is a 1985 240gl manual with a locked diff. The diffs are a very strong unit. It currently has about 1 month rego left on it. Chasing bout 500-600. Very rare to come manual
i know its been a while since anyone's posted here but would the diff out of a 740 be the same as a 240? coz my mates got a Volvo for spare parts at his place and said if i wanted anything off it then i could have it
cheers,
joe
If it moves and it shouldn't use duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should use WD40.
practically the same, same width, same brakes, they have very little differences between them, and nothing to worry bout.
aslong as its a live axle rear end.
Haha just picked myself up a 740 diff from the wreckers for the purposes of fitting to the celica.
I rang one of the diff place though and they tried talking me straight out of it and into a commodore one after telling me they needed to shorten the commodore one :S.
stidnam
i recon they have told you that so they can milk more money out of ya, ive seen the 1986 740 diff take one hell of a beating, seen it in a 740 that's pushing 500wrhp, so there a bloody tough diff, and apparently piss easy to fit
cheers,
joe
