Was thinking of doing this myself with my 3sge, would be interesting to see the power curve

wow a few years ago i was going to start this with a 4th gen sx...i had the blower, piping, ecu, injectors, EVERYTHING sitting in my spare room ready to start work..then i blew up the 3s the day before i was gonna start...and eventually i sold everything bit by bit to fund a monster 3s rebuild....and that engine lasted all of a few thousand ks ..damn cars....*goes emo*
good luck with it man..DEFINATELY interested to see how it ends up..as its something i have always wanted to do from day dot

you could always have 2 TB's, one before the SC and bypass . mechanically link it to the main manifold TB.

stage it so the pre-TB is slightly more open then the manifold TB

an SC12 weighs just under 11kg, the sc14 would weigh more if anything.

Any ideas on mounting positioning at this point?

I was pretty much going to have it switched by load, probably not under a certain temperature and only. Cant think of any others at the moment, might even rig up a switch as well, so I can permanantly turn it off or something, which would then allow me to switch maps on the wolf for best fuel economy.

you should at least have the s/c on its own circuit with a relay. now, you can use a 12v source to trigger the relay and have it running fulltime or you can do a load switch using a variable voltage switch hooked up to your TPS, so that when you get a certain voltage feedback from the TPS ( X-volts @ -% ) the relay for the s/c is activated.. then you can use ANY ecu you wish cos your s/c is controlled independantly. from monitoring my GZE it usually clicks the s/c relay in at anything above 18% TPS in any given RPM

I have already got a wolf running my 3sge, so the ecu isnt the problem. I was thinking a 3 way switch running a relay, always on, switched by the ecu and always off. The next issue is getting a valve thats really large.

go to a gas or irrigation place and see if they sell a big enough solenoid valve.

Run a small electric solenoid to supply signal pressure to a big wastegate valve.

Interested in this idea, how would this work, how do you trigger a wastegate?

A wastegate in a turbo system is normaly just triggered by inlet manifold pressures where it controls booost pressures by wasting exhaust gass volume around the turbo.

IF you wanted to control a valve electronicaly you can ciontrol the signal line pressures with an electronic solenoid as in an electronic boost control system.

What are you trying to achieve with the valve that you are looking at running?

    regards
    jon
