Auto not shifting 4th in 2JZ-GTE swap!

Engine and auto tranny are from Aristo swapped in my 84 Celica coupe. Car runs great except for the fourth gear that I'm missing

What wires shall I be looking for to connect the fourth as I understand it's an electric problem?

looks like your O/D button isn't connected in...

are you using the gearbox selector and computer from the same car u got it from, the Aristo?

The only ecu I'm using is the engine ecu. Is there another one to control the tranny? Coz the tranny shifts fine using the speed signals coming of the tranny to the ecu.

Do I need the Aristo gear selector to work the O/D?

did you install and wire up your kick down switch under the peddal? if you bought a half cut just use the aristo one...also did you wire the shifter switch on the side of the transmission properly? I'm only using the one ECU as well, most of the aristo ecu (i think i counted 9 units) are to control the luxury peripherals in the aristo so you dont need any others.

The transmission will not shift into OD when cold - could it be this? Are all the plugs on the transmission connected? (one of them is a temperature sensor, on the oil lines)

With the OD OFF switch NOT connected, the OD function should not be impeded.

The OD gear is controlled by the same solenoids that control 1st, 2nd and 3rd, so if those are switching correctly either the computer isn't switching it (multimeter will tell you that), or the solenoids are switching but something isn't changing hydraulically in the box.

The kickdown switch should not affect 4th gear.

Are you saying it won't change into 4th when in Drive? Or do you manually shift, L,2,D?

Thanks guys... I think OD is not connected properly to shifter.

One last thing, if I connect the OD to the shifter and it works, will the car shift fourth if I had SLD (at full throttle of course)? As I find it difficult to understand how it would as the speed signal from the tranny is being changed by the SLD!!
