Alas no max, I was still up doing assignments (ah, who am I kidding.. I'd been for an old pac run)
Which explains why you have a live-axle Celica with a turbo engine conversion.Originally Posted by Nark

Unfortunately, there's too much sentimental value in my old dunger.Originally Posted by Norbie

Interestingly enough the 1UZ feels lighter on the hoist than the 2JZ-GTE did...
I believe Max's old dunger doesn't spend enough time gripping the road to even start worrying about suspension geometry - you may as well fit castors on it.
Well... it is half the price...Originally Posted by Mr Revhead

For a 2L it's really not that bad - I was expecting it to be a lot slower - just like any small capacity NA engine, if you keep it in the higher revs it's useable...

I had my IS300 corner weighted, i'll have to find the paper and post it. i forgot the numbers, but i remember it wasn't bad at all.
Btw, with the coilovers and swaybars now in the car i welcome a challenge from any IS200 owner at a track event....that is of coarse if someone can find a way to teleport my car across the world for the day.

Yeah well I have coilovers too(too bad they're not actually installed yet)
Will you take the challenge against a 1UZ?
BTW, weight distribution is not all about corner weights. A (sorta) famous hoon once said - you can get Porsches with 50/50 weight split that are still arse heavy (don't ask me to quote model though).
Would be nice to compare the numbers.

basically states that between the V8 and the NA 2JZ the weight is almost exactly the same.
That pretty much supports your observation, as the 2JZ-GTE with the turbo(s) is going to be heavier than the plain jane version 2J.
ARH HA! that is the answer i was looking for!!! I was under the impression the 1uz was actually lighter then the 1g-fe! (well thats was everyone was saying)
Stilll don't have a clue as to what engine to put in the is200 i'm about to purchase.
