    Default removing attatchments

    G'day guys,

when uploading some pics (for tech benefit) i finally noticed that there was a limit. i did not hit the limit, but thought i would clean up and delete any that were no longer in discussion etc.

this all went well - finding the "manage attachments" in the user cp. what i couldn't do though was remove pics from an add i had. the item had been sold, and the thread closed which is all good - but this stops me deleting the images.

do these threads eventually get deleted?

i am more curious than anything else - i didnt see the point in taking up space either in my account (i may need to post something valuable to someone oneday... hehe yeah right) or just taking up space in the overall toymods space.

    Cheers
    Stew

    Hi Stew

Good question. No the threads don't get deleted as we like to keep them available as a refference for people to figure out what things have sold for and then infer there value.

At the moment the amount of pics stored on the server is extremely small, I think it's actually under 3MB so it's not much of an issue in terms of space usage. I can see that it's a pain for people who have uploaded pics and can't get rid of them to upload more though. I will take a look at what can be done to allow the pics to be removed from locked threads.

With a bit of luck when we get the new version of VBulletin installed I'll be able to get the guys to put a link in the thread posting page to be able to host pics with imageshack right from the forum window.
