And with a trade order, you can pick them up new from Toyota for less than a Dellhousing.
Yep JZA80 Supra NA 5peed item is what you seek, flywheel as well - they're different to R154 items (I have both flywheels if that helps your search?).

No, I haven't heard of anyone doing it.Originally Posted by Slim

Yeah, just tossing up the two conversions in my head, or just W58ing my 7M and being done with it.
Have these options (as would any Cressida driver):
1. Putting a W58 behind the stocko 7M
2. Putting an auto 1JZ in
3. Putting a manual 2JZ in.
Currently im most likely going to do the first out of that list, but still considering the other two.

And I'm sure you're aware of the list of parts and associated part numbers on the old forums. I'm sure the prices are all wrong by now....

Heh, no i wasnt. Well i was, but i couldnt find it anywhere. Figures that it had ducked off to the tech docs.

Would the stock MX83 radiator be sufficient?
Your confident the RA6x power steering lines would suit? Im not doubting, just interested as how you seem very sure!
What would be the disadvantages of purchasing a engine/loom/ecu/gb by itself rather than purchasing a front cut? ie extra reservoirs, fuse blocks etc that may be required? Do the 2JZ use the hydraulic fans like the 2JZGTE?
Where would I be best to search for longer/custom throttle cables?
Sorry for all the questions, but you guys are just so full of knowledge!![]()
Oh and can anyone confirm if i would have problems with the exhaust manifold?
Does the MX83 cruise control rely on the ECU or is it seperate?

3) With a slipyoke gearbox yes. That is the sole reason I'd suggest finding a slipyoke box.
4) Nah, just go through the Mackay Radiator hoses catalogue, and find hoses that best fit what you want. You may have to use 2 hoses and a joiner, or you may be able to use perhaps JZA70 or JZX81 hoses.
5) More than enough providing its clean
6) They work perfect for JZ into MA61, and the steering rack is very similar (22RE has power steering pump on passengers side just like 2JZGE, M motors run it on drivers side)
7) Personally I don't see the benefit in a full cut, unless the price is the same.
8) 7M and 2JZGE seem to have TB's in very similar places, this would be a suck it and see bit.

Cruise ecu is seperate.
Depends what car you get the 2JZGE from.
Midsump manifolds don't lend themselves well to front sump steering shafts.

Wow thanks mate! Talk about service!
So idealy it would be best all round to source a front sump 2J, and we should be ok manifold wise. I'd rather not buy extractors if possible. Try to keep costs as low as poss.
My main goal is to have a reliable, more fuel efficient cressida with a little more poke to boot!![]()
Well, back earlier in the year I got talked into putting a 2JZGE and R154 into a MX73 Cressida. I'm now about to pull this car apart and sell all the bits (2JZ, ECU, loom, gearbox, front sump, etc. etc.) as it had an unfortunate greeting with a Kenworth. I'd have to say that the conversion was a great idea, and the only 'hard' part was the amount of bashing the floor needed to take the 154 - not an issue if you use an auto or a W box. I can only see the MX83 as being easier. Value for money, it can't be beaten.
