1JZGTE Head Tourque Settings...

Well my new headgasket is being picked up today, it turns out its actually a 2.0mm HKS item and not a stock item which gives me some real peice of mind, but I may have to look into a smaller turbo or some better cams as it may be a little laggy but ill cross that bridge when I come too it as getting the car running again is the top priority...

We will be putting the motor back together tonight and I need some tourque settings for putting the new gasket in...

will stock tourque settings be ok bearing in mind im going to be using new stock headstuds with the new gasket?

If someone could provide me with the appropriate settings that would be fantastic...

im assuimg the "cylinder head x cylinder block" would be the closest information for the one I am after?

what does the 1st, 2nd and 3rd represent?

I'd be guessing it's each time you tighten up in sequence - ie first time it's 24 ft/lb, second time its turn each bolt another 90 degrees, 3rd time it's turn all the bolts 90 degrees again (maintaining the order of tightening).

Don't buy a smaller turbo, f**k the lag, and take me for a spin one day!! oneoneone!!

we are gonna have a few beers while assembling the bastard tonight so I really want to instill in my mind the very very important things such as tourqueing down the head as too not forget them should I become quite smashed....

if you wanna come for a spin then when my car is done ill be heading out too the port gawler go kart track for a practise session, they occur every monday from 6 pm till dark and for $2 plus signing a simple indemnity paper you are allowed to passneger provided you have a helmet on...come out then and ill take you for a spin and I can really open it up without fear of reprisal from the 5-0

Do you have a diagram for the head bolt tightening sequence?

Don't get too pissed when working on the car or bad things happen (lumpy knows from some bitter experience). Assumptions are made which is wrong wrong wrong.

Hmmm...I may be tempted one day (except my lack of helmet!). Pt Gawler timing bad though at the moment.

I think ill get completely shitfaced and get my mate Adam to do most of the reassembly...he has had too long off helping my sorry ass build my car while we waited for the HG to arrive...lol

Isn't 2mm thicker than stock, hence a different torque value for tightening?

yes 2.0mm is thicker than stock...thats why im after some ideas onto how much I should tourque it down too

Torque = 350kg.cm (34Nm, 24ft.lb) + 90deg, + 90deg
(as per 2jz-ge/2jz-gte listed above)

Torque sequence can be seen in the diagram.

To be honest I would try and find HKS's torque recommendations and follow them however.

damian: you go down port wakefield road and keep heading north untill you see a sign for a left turn that says port gawler...turn there...then follow the signs too the port gawler off road hire park
