Appreciate the fact that toymods is here. How would you like it if these guys just got jack of all this and pulled it all down?

I come here for the Tech and Events. there's ya social ond technical components right there. If i have posted in Non-Car it would be less than the number of fingers i have at a guess. And even with all this i know guys off of these forums quite well in real life and have traded with others interstate.

I agree with many of your points, all I'm trying to say is I don't agree with completely dismissing the contribution made by the free members (this may have come across wrong in my post above). Simply put I think the free members deserve CONSIDERATION when the paying members make decisions about the forum.
I have no problems with any of the current rules etc which seem to generally work well, however I did have concern with the attitutde of some financial members. An example of this was the discussion on the Dedicated Threads, there were comments indicating the the social factor of the forums (a lot of which is expressed thorugh those threads for free members) was not important. This may well be true for many paying members but for those more distant than NSW it is very important. It is often stated that free members do not pay so should be grateful for what they get, there is merit in this view however is it in the best interest of the Toymods forum and club? Personally I believe that a significant enough contribution is made to the forum and the technical knowledge here for it to be for the benefit of everyone to keep the needs or wants of the free members in mind when administering the forum.
This doesn't mean I want a free for all trading post (I have never sold anything through the forum anyway and post very little in non car discussion) but there needs to be a balance between tech and social in order to maintain the current level of free member contribution to the technical knowledge that Toymods is well known for.

no one said you cant, but posting of look what i found on the internet threads are on pretty much every other forum im on(which is 10+ forums) so there isnt really a need for them to be on here aswell when the club is paying for the bandwidth, that money could be put towards better things that CLUB members will get a use out of, be it a new banner, a night out on the piss, put towards a track day etc. etc.

im not a club member, was going to join but then i bought a new car which is non toyota, then i bought a project car which again is non toyota, and those that say the forum is for social aspects aswell, ill agree with that, from the forums i met a few guys on sunday had a chat talked about cars, and then the were doing what cars are ment for driving, so there is more to the "social" side of toymods rather then posting threads about crap that has been found on the net

Unfortunately due to the number of tards and crap posters, once you relax the laws
slightly to 'have some fun' with a few silly posts the flod gates burst wide open and
then you spend ages trawling through the mess to find what colour wire triggers your aircon.

I totally understand all points on the social aspect of this forum wether you be a paid or unpaid member here.
But again i cant see any justification of any and all of the crap in some of the sub-forums.
Im social here and in real life with forum and club members etc etc.

In the end this is the 2nd coming of these forums and all rules have been put into place for a reason. All decisions mad by the board and the financial members in relation to this forum do take into account the opinions and needs of the greater community wether or not they are financial members.

Unfortunately in the end this site is a device of the Toymods Car Club and, although used outside of the financial members and being aimed to aid the enthusist community,... it is
still controlled by the Board and Financial Members and essentially if we arent happy with its performance and genral well running why should we not step in and change rules to
    improve it?

It may seem a bit hollier than tho in attitude but it is the reality of the situation hence a mutepoint in this conversation.

***no offence intended to and all involved in this discussion***

    Cheers

Why would they pay for bandwidth when they arent even hosting said pics?
I posted something similar b4 and everyone had a laugh and got in on the act incl some well respected toymods members..... Just find it strange one minute everyone is having a good time the next we're all trying to read up on the 3000 page rules and guidelines on how we can post.

Anyways, im not a "financial" member so i dont have a say so i'll just leave it at that and go back to my corner.

Alright this is going nowhere, we're just increasing animosity by people from each side of the fence restating their opinions more and more strongly as more people come into the debate.

In the aim of not dividing the forums completely and having it flow over to other area's I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread now.

If you think you have something valuable to ad to the debate after having read all 143 posts in it please feel free to PM me about it.
