    Default MX83/1UZ Cruise Control Issues

    Hi All,

    My Cruise Control doesn't work!

The auto Elec tells me the system isn't getting pulses from the transmission and or tacho or speedo.

Anyone that has done the 1UZ conversion and kept the cruise control?

    How do I fix it??

    Any help would be great.

    Dennis

The cruise control system is a standalone system completely separate from the engine ecu.

If you have the cruise physically hooked up, and the speedo works, then the cruise will work.
If the speedo doesn't work, the cruise will not work.

Speedo works, Tacho works, Push on switch for cruise on the column stork and my cruise light comes on, on the dash, but when trying to set, nothing happens.

    This is my dilemma.

The only thing I can think of is that the cruise ecu needs to know that the gbox is in "D" for it to work.

Make sure that pin is correct.

Once "D" is engaged, and its getting a speed signal, it should work

There is a sensor mounted on side of transmission very nearly next to the speedo cable with a 3 pin triangular plug on the end of about 100mm of wire.

I'm guessing this is the speed sensor, but it has a different plug to the MX83 loom.

Is the MX83 version interchangeable with the soarer.

    Thanks, D

    that is the abs sensor

the cruise needs signals from the orig ecu to work but they can be tricked

and if u have fitted a manual gbox its abit more things to do

My original MX83 has a speed sensor in the same place, but as it's a GXL it doesn't have ABS, so what do I do now?

I'll come to you with some dollars but can't go to just nowhere. I would like it fixed before I go to Melbourne on the 6th October if you can fit it in.

    Cheers,

    Dennis

    Sideshow,

    You remember this!

But no mention of any money and it was on 12th September 2006.

It's now 29th September 2006 and no more than words from you.

The going rate for an auto elec is $70/hour, I'll pay you $100 if you can fix it and by your own determination, that equates to $300/hour, but as I said I would like it fixed before I go to Melbourne in now less than a week.

Can you do this, or not?

    Cheers,

    Dennis
