When I bought my '86 RT142 Corona a couple of months ago, one of the sweeteners on the deal was the fact that it had Cruise Control. (Must admit, pretty bling for an '86 model car, let alone a corona!)
I thought "Sweet!". Living so close to the M4 & M7 motorways, I thought it'd come right in handy!
Upon test driving, I discovered it didn't work, didn't think it was a "biggy" anyways.
When activated, the panel's LED lights up like it works. Trying to set it, back off the throttle, and nothing happens
Is it safe to assume that this is a Toyota wide part fitted to many cars of similar vintage, and not a specific RT-142 thing?
So, I ask all you experts:
What's the go with these?
How do you repair them?
Can anybody reccomend a certain repairer to undertake the job of restoring my cruise?
Im suriving without it for now, but would sure would come in handy(It's more wow factor I guess
)
Cheers all
Alex
You've gotta find the problem first.
Get a RT142 TSRM, it will give you step by step instructions on find the problem.
There is probably 10 or 15 things that can go wrong.
Try this though
