No offence ment but ive never been fond of them at all and im not surprised its playing up!
Not much you can do exept change it or take it apart and lube the spring![]()
Hi all, quick question.. I've got an malpasi fuel pressure regulator in the 28. Been there for a few years now doing its thing.
When the fuel pump primes the system I always hear a kinda squeaking noise in the regulator, I assume its just building pressure or something. No problem there..
But as of today, it is making that noise all the time while at idle. If you bring the revs up it starts to go away.
Just a bit concerned its started doing this.
Any suggestions? Reckon its the regulator stuffed, or fuel pump maybe? I don't have a fuel pressure gauge.
Thanks
Joel

Mate if I go down the path of replacing it, what kind do you recommend?
Or if I lube the spring... What kind of lube?
Cheers

I have a SARD rising rate FPR in mine and it makes the same "priming noise" for the first few seconds also, but then is quiet. Been in the car for about 8mths and has done it from the beginning..
Hmm yeah mine used to make it just went priming. But now its pretty much constant.
So sard & areomotive are good?
I noticed there are some Sard ones on ebay for $135. Not sure would need to make sure they are genuine though.
id say theyre about as fake as one could get

Ok have to fly to sydney and bring a car back! i will answer anymore questions late tonight or tommoro![]()
i took malpassi off my car, they were not repetitive enough. i went to the top notch sard job. i wouldnt buy one of ebay for the allready expressed concerns of copies. buy one from a speed shop.
SX seem pretty good and the areomotive one that ed posted i have heard good things.
fuel pressure is important so its worth spending the dollars to get a good one.

I noticed Sard have 2 level's of FPR. Do you know what one is required?
Thanks
Also can anyone recommend where I can get one and ensure its genuine? I've been digging around and prices are varing from $135 - $300.
i bought mine through the speed freak website, i am unsure whether any forum sponsors offer them.
from memory the 2 sizes were different depedning on the size fuel hose you were using.
