    I'm pretty happy with 16th out of the little 1600cc turbo, considering the competition.

    Still would have loved to have pipped Matty

    Shame I still can't keep up with Luke on a Motorkhana track - yet

    Just for my interest and a bit of fun (although I think I have a real chance of being flamed here), I did up a spreadsheet and determined the HP/CC*100 produced by each engine (using the standard capacities listed for the engine type - so not exact). I also went a step further and applied a 1.7 factor to the normally aspirated guys to compensate the result for lack of forced induction (typical factor used in Motorkhanas, etc.).

    If you feel like having a look to see if any of it interests you, go for it.

    Tristan's car definitely is a weapon no matter how you look at it. I can see where the battle of 7MG vs. IJZ comes from And those 3SGTE's aren't bad either are they?

    Funny, applying the "normal" turbo compensation to the other 2TG result, puts it very close to mine. In that case, it would seem to factor in the turbo effect.

    yeah.. Gene, you can't really compare yourself to the competition, as it was obviously unfair.
    in reality there would be several different categories (as they have at shows like AutoSalon and Motorvation etc)
    But overall - your car made over 160hp .. which isn't bad for the 1600cc !

    I think if I did make 200-280HP, I'd start breaking gearboxes, diffs, seats as I'm flung into the rear and never be able to pull-up.

    So, I'm happy what mine does makes SPIDA fun to drive and reasonably reliable - besides the plastic fan blade that broke on the weekend, causing a radiator leak

    Oh well, fixed already, and an excuse for a thermo fan replacement I reckon.

    Handling and driver ability are my areas for improvement at the moment.
