stepper motor hose blocked or is the motors wiring disconnected?
I have a ae101 silvertop, converted to manual
the car starts fine & revs out fine, but it wont idle and it just dies.
tried 2 ISCV's....check adjusted TPS, checked & changed all the vaccum lines. the timing is spot on.
ecu gives no codes.
does anyone have ANY ideas?

is it only during warmup, cos mines the same, and im pretty sure the o2 sensor is the problem... as its not hooked up. otherwise you have vacuum leaks. check all your hoses are hooked up correctly and block off all the unused ones.
it should still idle fine with a busted o2 just be a bit rich.

all the hoses are fine, some were cracked, split.....they have ALL been replaced
the stepper moter is connected as it should.
if it was the O2, the car would idle eratic till the sensor gets warm, but the car just dies, if anything were unpluged it would throw a code & it doesnt.

so it just stalls full stop or a bit eratic for a bit and then dies.
only thing i can think of is the steper motor is shut and wont let air in until you open the tb. unless its something spark wise of fuel. which is unlikely
a quick fix would be to wind up the adj screw therefore opening the tb slightly to allow it to idle at a slightly higher rpm just so you can drive the car.

my 1g does that aswell. Bit strange though, I know the ISVC works because after I turn the key off and the car is running off the turbo timer, the idle sometimes goes up. but when you start the car it won't idle up. If the car is turned off and you stall it while it's running off the turbo timer, next time you start the car it idles up like it is supposed to. I haven't had any time to look at it yet, but i'm pretty sure it's going to be a wiring problem from the conversion.
Hello.
my idles been getting lumpier in the past couple of days too...
and no, its not the HG
ive just checked and replaced my vac lines too, so i know thats not the issue! AFM it isnt, tps it isnt, im probably about as baffled as you!
unless we both have an engine-specific problem!

Nope when the car is warming up it's not even taking readings from the O2 sensor. Its after it's fully warmed up that it goes into closed loop mode and takes readings from the O2 sensor into account. I would cross the O2 of the suspect list. I'd be double checking for air leaks, TPS, Wiring and anything else that can relate to a dodgy idle if you persist you will prevail.Originally Posted by S.W.A.M.I.

Thirding to check the intake manifold and piping for leaks!
Worth checking over your AFM, hose clamps aren't loose, rubber pipe doesn't have any leaks? electrical plug(s) secure?
Also some of the vaccuum lines will run from vacuum switches plumbed into the coolant and to the ISCV, when these fail to do there job of opening/closing with coolant temprature you will find odd idleing problems. Whats the idle like when you wack on your AC? it should idle up, might reveal something such as it idles fine with the AC on etc.
just some things to try anyway
