So it looks like my custom Jzx81 converter is the same width but less height. Hmm...
Some pics.
Height of that aristo one looks pretty close to the same as mine, once you take off the thickness of the mounting tabs (which I didn't measure hence the 102 vs 115mm).
Another variable to the equation, for those of you that have *JZ A340 gearboxes, what number is cast onto the outside of the bellhousing on the bottom? Mine has a large "J1", and comes from a 1JZ. Are the 2JZ bellhousings marked differently?
Cheers
Phil

both mine have J1 also, both from 1J's, i have heard the 2J bellhousing is differant, so my guess it would be mark "J2"
ohh yeah turns out after getting a hold of a set of calipers, both my JZA70 and my JZZ30 torque converters were the exact same sizes. must have been my eyes playing tricks![]()
they were actually both 90mm thick, obviosly not including the mounting tabs which i was before

I know what you mean, i've looked at a few converters & thought they were different heights, but its actually just been an illusion. I wish toyota stamped the part number on them!
