I have RA60 front aand rear brake setup. Its fine with the old ke20 single circuit master.

Does anyone know what like the latest model celicas and corollas have in terms of dual circuit masters? Like the zzr's etc? someone told me they could be worth a shot.

Just spoke to my engineer and he said that it would be fine to run 2 single circuit masters, or a dual system and only have the front brakes boosted. But either one i pic, i'm going to have limited space and will cost me a fortune.

    this sucks...................

Thanks for the info boys. Will post pics, i'll go take some now.
MAte ive just done the conversion on my KE10 using the early galant M/Cyl.

GD disk/drum master cylinder and you will need the brake lines from a ke35 up as you need longer ones fro the front.

What about a pedal box setup from Wilwood, Tilton etc?

TurboKe20 - Please if its not too hard could you post a pic for me? You have a 4agte right?
How easy does your master clear the inlet manifold?

Madrolla - Is the early galant a Tandem system? And how long is the length from firewall to end of master? Can you get these with remote res?

ROTFL-ACT How much do the tilton pedal boxes cost? I would say these would have to be a dual or tandem system right?

Well the car is at a Brake specialist. Thinks he can get the right parts for a basic swap he said, hopefully won't cost too much. He is trying to find another master cylinder, but dont really like his chances. We'll see how it pans out. All i know is my current single circuit is all over the place, i definatly need to clean all the brake lines up.

Ok its a dual circuit cylinder and its 185mm from firewall to end of cylinder ,you could make it remote res if you really wanted to i suppose.

Try a early (pre 88 or so ) Range Rover, they are dual circuit and will definatly fit in the length, not sure about the other measurements though.

Well the car is at a brake place. The owner of the workshop is doing the work for me, and he has said that he has found a master cylinder.
    Ok, here's the quote.

    $303 - master cylinder
    $88/ph - labour for 6 hours

Looking at just over $800 he said.

Personally i almost cried cause i thought i would of been able to get this done for under like $400. But seems not.
I do have the money for it, but just dont want to be giving free money away if i know i can get the part and get someone elso to do it for cheaper!

    What you all think?

P.S does anyone have the dimentions on the 1988 Range Rover 3.5 Brake Master. As i think this ine looks like its short enough, but just want to make sure.

How much have your master conversions cost? Anyone had to pay around this sort of money?

No offence ment but fuck me there on drugs! be ok if it was a place that could do all mechanical and was above the ordinary, but 88 and haour he would want to have mills and lathes and alll the best equipment! what a wank.thats the trouble with australia, we have under skilled people with tooling from 20 years ago wanting top dollar! its all a big joke.

Thats exactly what i thought. There's nothing i can do though then try it myslef or get him to negotiate the price. Its bullshit expensive. I do need it to be done in the next week though so i think i might just have to negotiate the price with him if i can!

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Far out dude, im just about to switch my master cyl over to unboosted, and its like $80 for the Datto 240K master (7/8") and then maybe another $20 for a plate, bolts and other bits and an actuator out of an old clutch master.

    $800 is a rip and a half.

Ok, did some rough measurements for the 240K master, its 175mm in length from the back of the flange to the extent of the bore. Cost was $77 at trade.
