Hey mate, I can't remember if we had discussed this already or not but are you wanting to mount the new dual circuit master cylinder in the same location the factory master cylinder was in the KE20?
Hey guys,
Well i'm currently stuck in a bit of a head hold,
I cant manage to find a dual circuit master cylinder that will fit into the standard ke20 position. I have been thinking of ke30 or ke55 but they are too long i think. I don't quite know there full length but people have told me they are too long
Anyway, if someone here has had the same trouble, or knows a Dual master which is less than 140mm length, 19.05bore, and the stud holes are like 60mm or around abouts.
Called auto 1 as they are pretty good from my area, and they didn't have any sugestions apart from a pbr, or clubman. But they stopped making them now.
So if someone has done this, like YLD-16V then wanna give me some insight as to what i need to buy or what will fit?
Thanks guys, i'm getting quite impatient with this and i really need to get it regiestered in the next few weeks!

Yeah if possible, though it doesn't have too. I'm not really sure what needs to be done inorder to move the position of the master cylinder inorder to make room to fit a dual circuit.

If you move the master cylinder you will need to modify or make a new pedal box which is a bit of work.
This is being used without a booster correct? If so the bolt mounting for the master cylinder is not an issue as it is quite simple to mount it to the fire wall and add some reinforcement to reduce firewall flex.
A remote mount VH44 valiant booster and master cylinder is an option but I have never looked into it so I don't know the details.
Have a look through this to see what meets your bore requirement and chances are that if it if from a later model car it will be quite short - then confirm it with some more research.
The Mirage master might have been ok but it has a 22.2mm bore.

The only prob is that i have 140mm in length to play with.
I do already have a remote booster but its on passenger side of firewall. I would much rather tidy up the brake setup hence me asking how hard exactly it was to modify your pedal box.
or did you just buy another one?
No-one really knows what, if any, master cylinders will fit in the spot. I'm not really keen to spend alot of money either getting some brake dude to do it when i think if i know what needs to be done, i'll give it ago.
Can you call me, or give me a picture and some details of your set-up
?????
Pm'd ya my no.
Thanks for the help mate!

Well some intresting things i have found out.
Called up Jase, aka yellow rolla and he gave me some insight towards solving the problem
There's this place/shop in usa called Wilwood Engineering
Anyway they have alot of good stuff, all the tandem master cylinders they have though are still too long for my application so i'm going to have to eith get two 104mm single circuit masters or get this thing http://www.wilwood.com/Products/005-...mcbp/index.asp If i can somehow fit this thing, i will be a happy man!
Any ideas? Is this something towards the likes of what some of you guys have done to other toyotas?
KE20 - Soon 2 b gte!
if you want unboosted,
early galant, GA-GD almost fit into KE10 and probably KE20.
they are dual circuit, one is 11/16, and i think the other is 3/4?
one is alloy, the other is steel/iron...

YLD16L - Thanks for the great info and pics. I might end up giving you call a bit later if i just cant decide what to do.
KingMick - Thanks for measuring it. 12mm is a biatch but i knew it wasn't going to fit.
I have RA60 front aand rear brake setup. Its fine with the old ke20 single circuit master.
Does anyone know what like the latest model celicas and corollas have in terms of dual circuit masters? Like the zzr's etc? someone told me they could be worth a shot.
Just spoke to my engineer and he said that it would be fine to run 2 single circuit masters, or a dual system and only have the front brakes boosted. But either one i pic, i'm going to have limited space and will cost me a fortune.
this sucks...................
Thanks for the info boys. Will post pics, i'll go take some now.

my standard master on my ke 20 has 2 out lets but im upgrading mine now im just waiting penrith brake and clutch to get it in. i can get you the part number but this one is about 20mm longer than original. so it may not be useful to you.
if u want i can post up a pic of the old cylinder if u want.
