Default being kicked off before being known

    Hey all.
brother is wondering why he was kicked off the boards not long after he signed up? he hadn't even posted anything and was booted. what might the reasoning behind it be?

maybe its because he was using the same ip as you and admins assumed you had registered twice or something?

i have seen it happen on other forums when a members brother joins.

What do you mean by "kicked off"?

I don't know of anyone who's been banned recently?!

There was a guy banned late last week for being a knob. and being on -66 rep I think had a lot to do with it aswell

well he came to me yesterday and said he went to sign up so he can learn about the toyotas and look into which one is the best one to buy etc etc etc... and he said he had signed up but wont get on. and said he's been kicked off. so not really sure whats going on. he doesnt know either.
it might possibly be that he's got the same ip, but there are people on here that are using the same ip! dont think it would be the fact of his user name selection would it? none of the other forums he's on hasn't had a problem.
    cheers for the feed back.

he might've signed up and replied to the confirmation email... and was then on the signup approval list awaiting admin approval.

Once an admin had the chance to check it out, he might've been rejected for whatever reason. Best off to get him to email the board with his username and the problems he's had.

Yeah, I think teh W is correct. He might've just gotten his registration rejected.

Speaking of which, what is the current lead time for having applications accepted/rejected? Housemate signed up on Monday, but hasnt heard anything. Meanwhile i cant remember how long it was 11 months ago

Edit: i think he put me down as a referral, but im not sure what nickname he would be using.
Edit2: is there any way to see who we have referred?

hey everyone!! i was a member of the old toymods forum and used it quite frequently, then when the new forum was started and the old one stopped i tried signing up to it straight away but was rejected or not accepted for unknown reasons????? I tried to get approval MANY MANY MANY times to the new forum over about the last 6months and have only just got my confirmation email yesterday.
I am still using the same username as before, so now that i am finally able to post on here can i ask why i was rejected so MANY times???
