    Default Turbo-manifold adaptor plate

    heyas,

    Just a quick Q.

I have a T3/T4 internally gated turbo with a standard 7mgte exhaust manifold, problem is that the manifold is T2, whilst the turbo is T4, does anybody know of where i can get PRE-MADE adaptor plates for my turbo?? i dont really want to buy a CT26, as i already have a turbo.

    any advice will be appreciated.

    i found this one,
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/T2-TO-T4-TURBO-FLANGE-ADAPTER-for-INTERCOOLER-CARS_W0QQitemZ370120179563QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Ca r_Parts_Accessories?hash=item370120179563&_trksid= p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A 1318#ebayphotohosting

but i would rather buy local, or off someone who can CONFIRM 100% it will fit my application, as in the bolts on the manifold look really long and in that ebay piece, it doesnt look like it would clear it and leave enough space for the turbo bolts!

Two questions: Is a stock CT26 flange really T2 (I assumed it was a different pattern) and is your turbo T3 or T4 pattern?

If you are worried about height, I have seen adapters on Ebay that are a nicer thick adapter plate with milled transition between the two sizes.

Turbo appears to be a Garrett T3 flange pattern. Manifold looks like a Toyota flange pattern (sorry, never played with Toyota turbo's.
A manifold adapter is straight forward fabrication work for someone with the skills and equipment. I made 1 years ago for 1 of my own cars that has worked faultlessly (no cracks etc) and I'm sure Linden can help you out.
Please note, T2, T3 and T4 are applicable to Garrett turbo's, not to anything else. Some turbos will use the same flange pattern (I have a Mitsubishi TD06 turbo that has the same Garrett T3 flange pattern) but that doesn't make them a T-whatever turbo. It's all very misleading and confusing for the newer people.

Yes, it is a standard toyota flange.

many people have told me the Toyota turbos middle letter/number depicted its flange, so going on what those people said, i naturally assumed it was the basis of how all turbos are categorised(sp?)

i guess that idea was wrong, cheers

    yeah thats not the case.

for example twin entry ct26 (from gen 2 3sgte) and ct20b (from gen 3 3sgte) have a split pulse housing with a pretty similar patturn and size to garretts t4.

You could prehaps machine the oval in the mani to the rectangle of the t2 and redrill holes?

You need a CT26 Round to T3 adapter.

i have something close but its CT26 Split to T3, ill check the overlap etc and see if i can make it work 100% properly then ill post some pics and let you make a decision.

    Cheers

The split one i have wont work, but i redesigned the adapters to suit Ct26 round to T3 but id need to get a minimum of 5 done to make it worthwhile.

let me know if you find other ppl interested and ill get them made up.

The section talking about Toyota turbo's above is simply not true. The Toyota bolt patterns are not the same as the Garrett patterns which is where the T* nomenclature originates.

Just posting this to clarify in case anyone comes along and is misinformed from the original post.
