V8 Soarer Won't rev past 3800RPM

where the hell is the map sensor on a 1uz
first time ive heard of it
and have never seen a mao sensor on a std 1uz

Go to the Soarer Forum and find someone that is willing to swap ecu's for a trial. It sounds like its when it goes to open loop on the throttle. But it could also be any number of the above suggestions. The ecu swap is just an easy one to rule out, with a 10 min effort.

The 1UZ-FE in the Soarer's rum MAP sensor as well air air flow meter. Just check to make sure the MAP sensor is still connected. Top LH on intake plenum.

For any model year, from 1990 LS / 1992 SC400 to present.

I unpluged the TPS and it still did the same thing.
And i've never seen a map equiped 1uz either

I does the same thing if i creap upto the rpm's or full throttle up. It feels like a electronic rev cut, like you would get at 7000plus rpm

It has to be something electronic, as the way that its acting it can't be a spark plug, block fuel lines or anything like that, has to be either a fualty something or an unpluged something, i haven't found anything as yet to be unpluged

Does it do it in neutral as well?

Is it a 'bouncing' off the rev limiter (ie, cutting every 2nd injector pulse)
Or is it just holding it at 3800 smoothly?

Bouncing off and yes it does it in neutral
The car just came up with an error code

its japanese. mine is to rusty to read it. a few toymodders can read japanese, you will have to wait for them to check it up

That warning light is just saying you have a tail light blown

I'd do as Trav suggested, pull a couple of plugs, see if they are covered in water/oil.

Dammit, a tail light is blown. Geez japanese think of everything. I didn't think there error codes went down to such detail
If it was a couple of plugs it would be showing up in the rev range everywhere not just at 3800rpm and not the way its acting up

Put it in diagnostics mode by jumpering TE1 and E1 in the diagnostics connector in the engine bay then turn on the ignition. Any error codes will be displayed on the LCD in the dash.

Sounds to me like ECU, either engine or fuel pump. Where abouts in Quensland are you?
