Yeah, the 86 handled like shit. Too stiff, no suspension travel = a shit time....... Pretty much understeered off the track at every corner. The clutch was slipping really bad too. just free revving by the second lap.... Car has no LSD too, so I couldn't steer it from the back, and was very unpredictable...
To give you some idea, no bullshit, but on one lap, I launched the car coming out of the dipper! I got complete air........ I almost shit myself! Would have looked good at the marshell point. I think Morgan was up there.....
PICS!!!!!
A 302 FWKW Cyborg Mirage. I was a guest driver of this car after I gave up with my new AE86 because it was too stiff for this track. This cyborg is an ugly thing, but this one frys tyres so hard its not funny....

And my new 86. This was it's first ever track event, or even real drive for that matter. The car was terriblePower was great, but the handling was shithouse. Way too stiff, just understeerd straight off the road at corners, and the car has no LSD, so I couldn't even whip the arse end around. It was crap and it wasn't fun. I packed up after 3 runs, and then drove the Cyborg for the rest of the day..

haha it was a bit of a handful, only had it registered sat morning so basically first time been driven in current state. haha there were a couple slides that became spins unfortunately
your car looked and sounded awesome, it really powers up the hill
so yea next plan for me is to hit marulan with some stickier rubber and possibly softer springs and see how i go, 8/6 with bridgestone supercat rear tyres is only good for being sideways!
Yeah i know a bit about too stiff suspension and it doesn't suit the current trackThe 12's in the front of the celica i can get away with i think as they are good everywhere else and not too bad at Sutton. If it gets a resurface as expected then they could actually be pretty good. With the toe out, i definitely had the best steering i've had in a long time. The rear though
forget it. the 10kg/mm are just too stiff i've decided. If the car unsettled at all then the rear just broke away. I'll drop back to 7's and see how that goes.
Cheers for posting the pics Jo, Craig takes a pretty dman good photo.

He does take a good photo - but appears he has no love for my pile.
I was the silver RX7 in the line behind you Anastasios - I think we might have been competing for who had the most unburnt fuel going out the exhaust pipe. But it sure looked good, unfortunately I didn't see it run. Heard a few people commenting on it - think they were liking the JDM look.
And Todd - the reason your car was cold was because you were sitting in the sun while the car was in the shade!
Great day - yes, the waiting is cr@p but the racing was good fun. Shame I lost to a Corolla. A Corolla, the shame of it all. Admittedly it is an absolutely awesome Corolla driven bloody well so I can't complain - well done Shane.
Will be a sad day when the GT8 goes back to street duties - I'll miss the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse noise when you gently warm the tyres... And I think Brett J in the WRX beat you for cocking a leg, that is some serious air under that tyre...

Sorry Todd my beloved must not like RX7's either no photos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love to see a man happy at his worlk !!!!!
The prettiest car on the day ,but no roll cage ?
May be two hands for beginners , and what's with the turning left ?
I was happy with a pb by almost a full second, although still haven't cracked a 50... I got beaten for the class win by Dave's rx7 by 0.08 seconds lol
Nissan Silvia S13- 1UZFE
Justen are your rear dampers still on full soft?
I can imagine 10kg rears on a mcpherson strut would struggle to be compliant on that surface![]()

Pffft. Like I'd notice or care.Prob explains lack of photos - it has a face only a mother could love.
I only noticed due to the fuel vapour that I could smell was more than mine usually generates. No drama - was just funny having the tables turned.
And Tyrie - wasn't Dave dark about almost being beaten by a Micra.![]()
