Default Help with a dream - GZ10 Soarer from Ukraine

Restoration and building in almost 14,000 km from the motherland

Shalom! I'm own this sweety car. Bought in Ukraine, in horrifying condition.
Small wage (as for student, about 400$ for month), it takes a lot of time and work to reconstruct it.
Thread on japanesenostalgiccar, with some old photos.
For today, after couple years (weldup, flattening) it's a big question with engine.
In OEM, it was 1G-GEU (after 180.000 miles after our badly service and fuel).
Prices for it replacement parts (used) in our country - are same as gold.

So, I make decision fit 1JZGTE... in a related move a have some questions (previously nobody make it here):
    - will OEM axle (cardan) stand 280hp?
    - same question with drivegear...

Same car of my friend with 1JZGE stands full OEM, but there's 190hp...
ps: Dudes, previously excuse me for my english ^^

Yes, axle will stand 280hp, we recommend LSD though.
What gearbox or transmission are you planning on utilising?

The previous owner lived in a village near my city. He transported potatoes coolly in the boot.
    That is awesome!

1G-GEU was sold with AT about 100$)

Bora, thats the usual price for 1GGEU in Australia too! haha !

Easy install if you purchase the 1JZGTE from Chaser, Mark 2, Cresta model JZX81 JZX90, As will come with correct oil pan and other parts.

Maybe swap set from this cars simplify my work.
From ebay, it's problems with our customhouse (no documents on engine), Japan - expensive delivery and expect it up to 2 month. So, the most pleasant variant to buy car wholly from UK, PL etc. Couldn't find Mark \ Chaser on used cars sites there. Is it so problem in swap 1JZGTE from soarer z30 (it cost's about 5.000$ from Japan here, non customs-cleared)?

I have non customs-cleared Chaser JZX100 (bought it around 4.000$ for resell) extremely low miles (about 30.000) on 1JZGE here, in Odessa. But my bad idea - GTE, nothing else, maybe it's my mistake. Price for 1JGTE without transmission around 2.500$ here in UA, without adequate assurance...
Yeah, well, I'm gonna go build my own theme park, with blackjack and hookers.

after looking at googlemaps I can see why the Japan-delivered parts are so expensive - either a risky rail trip across Russia or a very long boat cruise into the Black Sea via the Suez.

It's hilarious how nearly every Z10 Soarer project starts out with a basket-case chassis - regardless of the country

    Don't use a 1JZGE, wait for a 1JZGTE. Much much better.

    FYI - Z30 Soarer 1JZ will require a different sump/oil pan

Delivery price depends on weight (by container)... You can look through it - for example our on-line store with JDM parts.

Chassis also a bis question, for the first time there where springs nonOEM, in plans buy some coilovers, but exactly what kind (used from what car)?

Stock springs can be donated from MA61, MX73, RA65, SA63 & RA60 (though the 4cyl chassis might have slightly softer springs).

Unless you want to pay a lot of dollars, front coil-overs (in Oz) are best done as DiY jobs with struts from the above or just use the Z10 strut. RA65 strut gives you the best king-pins angle, various online stores sell weld-on coil-over kits, shock inserts to suit, springs bought online at rates of your choice, and strut tops cover that same range of models and you also can include S13 Nissan if you slot the strut tower holes slightly. There's a few threads about making coil-overs on here plus many of the MA61 & Z10/11/12 owner-build threads will cover coil-overs at some point.

Rear is somewhat more difficult as the spring has it's own seat and the upper seat for the shock won't hold up if you put some kind of coil-over shock in its place.

    *) Find a front sump.
ebay motors (ex.) offers me only rear sump, import it from Japan, "all money" ><
Maybe, something like this will be superb variant?

And very dumb question - brakes! Understanding that OEM brakes dont stop 280hp (perhaps I make mistake) so from what car it's simple swap?

a couple words on GE / GTE engine. While the latter does drive better, buying a GTE in used condition is usually kinda game. Up to my experience (some 10 '98-00 JDM 1jz-ge's , 3 1jz-gte's and one 2jz-gte) a n/a engine will usually come in perfect driveable condition while that's not always the case with turbo one. To make things worse, you are going to buy an even older engine (there's no single JZX90 produced past 1996). So I would recommend planning extra money for diagnostic and refarbing purposes.

as for the brakes, try searching for Supra or Aristo parts. Some of them bolt on to mark2/chaser series so there're chances for bolting on a soarer as well
