I imagine it could be done, post 79 K's have hardened valve seats I think?
No you cannot do it yourself, a registered installer needs to do it, probably because of compressed flammable gas in a vehicle.
Yes LPG is common. Usually 1 pump at a servo

im guessing different country, so legalities & availability will be different.
its not all that complicated to do, you just need to know what your doing.
There's nothing difficult in installing LPG to carby vehicles. The most important things are
1 Put fuel line on the opposite side from exhaust
2 After assembly inflate the tank with air first (4-6 bar would be nice, up to 15 is allowable) and
3 Check for leaks using soap foam
I would recommend to find a decent installer. The work might cost you some $300 USD, and probably another 200 for LPG parts. With mileage well above 30 000 per year, this money will soon return as the difference in fuel cost, otherwise LPG is worthless for you/

Engine conversion is when you drive a shitbox which costs a whole LEXUS to own
Yes its common here with a slowly reducing Govt rebate to convert.
gas prices current between 47 and 67 cpl.
I have driven and converted 3SFE CAMRY 2VZFE V6 Camry and 3SFE RAV4 engines.
I tow on gas and get about 300 km from 50 litres typical which is not good but c.f. with fuel at 1.28 cpl its acceptable.
My recent conversion of an SXA11 RAv4 with modified head holds 85 litres and 500k range.
I now always start and run on fuel until its warm to avoid valve regression/recession.
i run the good duel electrode plugs and always do the plug leads and service every 5000km.
The engine oils run a honey colour and wear is low.

Thanks for your answer.
When doing this on a car that has a carby, how exactly does that work? do you just run it in the inline on the carby where the gasoline used to go, or do you need a vaporizer or whatever its called on top of the carby? if so, how can i find out what parts will fit my engine?
you spelled converSion wrong.
Are you qualified to do the conversion? It doesnt sound like it so far with this many question arent you best leaving work that will involve explosive fuels being plumbed to the experts?
Wish I had a F#%ken awesome toyota.. saving for the goodness now.... stay tuned....
A dedicated lpg carby will shit all over a stock carby converted.
Yeah you need a vaporizer thingy. I'd ring up a supplier and ask if they have a kit to suit, or alternatively what they have that would suit
