    Default HELP: 2TG dizzy help!!

HEEELLLPP!!! haha I'm trying to do the points --> elec dizzy conversion but I can't seem to remove the rotor assembly!! It just will NOT budge!!

    How do i remove this:

I'm guessing I have to remove this to do it:

It would seem I am missing something, but I have removed all screws, springs, cir-clips, etc that I can see. Are there any hiding that I should be looking for?

A few people said it should just come off after removing all of the above, but it just won't move!! Next step will be soaking in WD40 or something and trying to pry it off. I just don't want to stuff the bearings or bend any shafts etc...

    Many thanks!

    toyo al,

you guessed wrong, it actually no that hard, look down the center of the shaft that the rotor goe on and there should be either a screw or a wire clip. Remove said screw/wire clip (may need to use some jewlers screw drivers or something and flick it out) and the shaft wil come off

So there's is more than the one screw in there? I already took a black cover off, and un-screwed a screw.... I'll have another look, but I'm sure I have removed everything I need to Roger!

Remove center screw & apply penetrating oil if it's frozen/rusted on.
It should rotate very easily, not all the way around - 360 degrees, but about 30-40 degrees when hitting the stops of the mechanical advance. It's twice the crankshaft degrees at half its speed.

Looks to me that you have to remove the drive gear first then push the shaft out.

Admittedly with a 4AGE dizzy, but that's what I had to do. Drill out the peened over pin holding the drive gear on, remove drive gear, and slide the shaft out.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
