I'm keeping an eye on this... http://www.weatherzone.com.au/vic/northeast/benalla
Looks like it'll be vastly different conditions to last year. Last year was hot... over 30º with strong north winds.

I'm working on the 18th so I can't make it, and even Timbo said he thought it was on the 25th when I spoke to him a few weeks back...

i think maybe everyone needs to pay more attention...

    TEAMS: 23, 25, 27 & 29

    Good Afternoon All,
Thank you for making yourselves available as a volunteer to help run the event. Your assistance is very much appreciated by the organizing committee, senior officials and all the competitors. You have been rostered to assist in pit lane on Saturday between 12:45 and 15:00.

Please be aware that all volunteers need to be 16 years of age or older as nobody under the age of 16 is allowed in pit lane at any time during the event.

You will need to be at the base of the control tower at 12:45 at which time you will be allocated a pit lane location ( 1 to 4 ), provided with radios etc. and given specific instructions relating to your role over the next 2 hours. As the majority of volunteer roles are exposed to the elements I recommend that you are prepared with a hat and sunglasses for a sunny day ( sunscreen will be provided ) and apparel suitable for a wet day.

Your primary role will be assisting to ensure a safe environment is maintained in pit lane so everybody can have an enjoyable weekend.

As mentioned above no person younger than 16 years of age is permitted in pit lane during the event you will need to make sure that all persons below 16 do not enter pit line and remain in the garages.

You may be requested to pass information to team managers in garages adjacent to you as well as monitoring people on the pit wall. The minimum dress code for persons in the pits and at the pit wall is shirt, full length pants and covered shoes. If someone is not properly attired you will need to ask them to leave the pits.

Vehicle control will primarily involve ensuring that vehicles do not use the concrete apron outside the garages as a lane, You will need to direct the vehicles back over the line onto the bitumen pit lane. This is critical as the greatest danger to pedestrians occurs as they exit the garage doors so we need the vehicles away from the garages as much as possible. The vehicles will cross a couple of garages to stop at their garage and also depart but we need to keep the distance travelled on the concrete apron to a minimum as a safety precaution.

One thing that will not be tolerated by race control is abuse of an official or aggressive behavior towards an official, should that occur during your shift you need to contact me via radio immediately and report the incident. I will take care of the matter from there.

If at any time during your shift you are requested to perform a duty you do not feel comfortable in complying with please let me know and another official will take up that role.

Specific instructions relating to your role in pit lane will be relayed to you at the start of your shift and via radio during your shift.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions relating to your role.

    Thanks again for your help

    Cheers

Well the weather forecast says only 10% chance of rain. Seems to be improving.

The other white car suffered another big setback last night apparently. After it did a bottom end at the last track day, the rebuild was going smoothly until some bits from the new head were found to be missing last night. That leaves less than 4 days to swap heads, put the motor in the car and run it in.
Andrew and Ed have been working really hard trying to get it back together. Andrew, in particular, has spent many late nights in the shed on it.

I was well impressed with the sound of the club car in the vid in the other thread.
I've spent ages on these stickers... I hope we don't run out of time to get all the Celicas looking like a real team.

I made up a Rising Sun sticker file for the Rising Sun team cars. It's about 400mm wide x 170mm tall. Also we've got a set of numbers for the Rising Sun cars too. So no need to buy them.
