Default Toyota Fest 2007 - WA Thread

Getting in early with thoughts about attending again this year. Those of you who attended last year will all agree, it was a fantastic week, and I'm sure most of you enjoyed the lead up and return from the event too. So, in short (for now), who has an interest in attending this year's event, whether that means driving a vehicle over, flying over to attend, or teleporting?

    what? where? when? why? how?

Teleporting. Can you teach me to do that? would really help in getting to work with out spending 2 hours on a plane with the same room inside as a starlet.

for those who haven't attended previously what's the deal?

FWIW Nathan and I will be doing a massive journey for ToyNats 2009.

Probably starting in Tassie, do some touring there, making our way to Dubbo, and ending up somewhere in QLD.
Then possibly doing the trip home via Darwin and the NorthWest.

Something to start budgeting for, coz its not going to be a cheap trip.

    Nullabor trip, nah.
Done it once, won't be doing it again for a while.
If there was something to see, sure, no problems.
But there is nothing. Anything worth seeing we saw on the last journey.
Alice springs would be nice, but its a 2000km round trip.

So I'll be shipping the car somewhere this time.
Sure, its gonna cost more, but meh.

There was something cool about rocking up in Adelaide after that trip, or rocking up in Ceduna after hours of nothing

At the least, we should just ship them to Adelaide, that way we can catch up with everyone there and pick up any tagalongs, then bust it down to the GOR again, from there to Melbourne, then across on the Spirit to Devonport.

And when we get back to Melbourne, we should take our time and cross the Snowy's into Canberra so we see something different.

Adelaide would be fine by me.
We should inquire about shipping (ie, on a boat).
Might be cheaper than road transport.

So we'll make it a 4 week trip shall we?

Nah, 4 weeks is probably too long, 3 weeks would be fine. I can do without my car for a day or so when I get back.

Oh, for those interested in ToyFest, it was one of the best times (motor related wise) that I've had in a long time.

But a LOT of that enjoyment was A) driving across the country, and B) having my own car there.

    WELL worth the trip.

I'm keen on doing one of the trips may not be this year more then likely next year when the car is more complete. Been thinking about holidaying that way this year and seen thats right after my birthday might be a good idea. See what I can work out!
