After some oil tech advice to help keep the stocky UZ together until the dry sumped monster is built.
A bit of background. I have always run Mobile 1 0W40...until i started running slicks that is. Even with the baffled sump and shrouded pickup i was getting surge at WP from the xtra g's. I figured i needed a heavier weight oil so started using the 'motorsport' Castrol Edge 10W70.
I still get lower oil pressure than i'd like, so rather than trying to maintain oil pressure per se, what i need is the oil that'll do the best job of bearing protection.
From my reading it's a bit of a black art and shear strength seems more important than oil weight and the 2 need not be related?
Any oil gurus out there care to shed some laymen wisdom

i dunno much, but is the oil relatively hot or cool on the track? ie, are you runnign higher or lower viscosity than the "rated" vis?

might need to move up slowly and see what happens.
But just wondering with the baffled sump, did you put a lip on the baffle?
Put an extra oil cooler on it (or 2) and use them as a large reseviour (reducing surge problems) as such with the added benefit of cooling the oil also which will bring the oil pressures up.
cheers
