By making this statement you are assuming that a 2way mechanical LSD is going to be better than the truetrac.

Have YOU driven a 2way in all the ways you described above?

Almost everybody in this thread has stated that the truetrac is perfect for a daily driver/weekend warrior.

I'd suggest you go put some miles under your belt in a with a 2way before you make a decision.

Also I could make said assessment if someone was willing to let me drive their truetrac diff'd MA61 . For a 2 way I could probably borrow a Nissan off a mate maybe.

Daily driving for me is about 10mins a day if that, Ed the supra has probably seen a shop car park once or twice . Majority of the mileage on my cars is racked up on cruises with toymods, or some late night hills action.

Can we get back on topic too the topic was not whether I wanted a true trac or not it was if the mechanical centre would actually fit.

A big selling point of the torsen also is they don't wear out like clutch pack diffs do

Correct. And at the hint of slipping it will send power to the wheel with traction.

my only other q about the trutrac, if you say for example, wanted to do a burnout(not that i do )... would both wheels lock and spin together, or would one just go?

AFAIK with a Torsen, as soon as at it senses any torque (ie as soon as the driveshaft starts accelerating), the diff locks solid.

Only issue I see is when feathering the throttle with drifting is it going to cause an inconsistency.

Providing your foot is far enough on the pedal such that the motor is trying to turn the driveshaft with more force than the road/tyres are trying to slow it down (which would be almost anytime your foot is touching the pedal), then it will still happen.

I have a truetrack sitting here to go in my IRS F-series centre. Note that you also need different carrier bearings to suit.

No, you clutch kick to shock load the tyres with a big dose of engine speed/power it's still going to unsettle the car and cause the rear to break away.
