Default machining shocker shaft in Melb?

anyone had their strut insert shaft machined to suit coilover hats etc?
where can i get it done in Melb?
ive tried many expert suspension places and they cant do it,
need to be able to hold shaft and shocker body on lathe.

Have you spoken to Centreline in Thomastown?
They do a lot of custom work, If they can't help you out then I'm sure they'd be able to send you in the right direction.

i think you will find anyone that does it will want to stip it to just do the shaft. be near impossible to get it to swing centred otherwise

you machine the top spring perch to suit the shaft, not the other way around.

if you machine the shock shaft (i'll assume we are tralking about the same thing) it will weaken it.

post up some pics, it sounds like you are trying to make something fit that shouldn't fit

it can be done in a lathe, unfortunatly centerlines isnt big enough to take shock body through spindle part,
im sure an engineering place can do it, but would like someone thats done it before so they have some experience in this work.
see pics of step down, its the only way coilover hardware can be fitted with cusco camber plates.
