Starting issue with 4age

yeah man, the idle problem sounds like a vacuum leak or maybe a broken gasket on the intake? The starting problem has to be fuel or ignition related like the guys have said.

My ae82 100kw idles at 2500 on cold too. I really hate it when it does it and i had a poke around and couldnt find the culprit so i just deal with it. It also requires a small tap on the acc to start smoothly. Almost like its a carby...
