hello
query: has anyone seen 18R-B diagrams? just asking as there's a guy in brisbane building one of these (a factory twin-carb 18R for those who dont know the code).
well it seems like i'm bringing this thread back from the dead, but regardless.
i can't view about half the pics since i'm on one of those 56-and-a-bit K internet connections, but i've seen only enough to raise more queries...
image 57, is a diagram for the 18R-GU of what looks like anti polution control stuff, NONE of these parts look familiar to me (none on my engine) but i can't help but think that somewhere here is the answer to my question. on the intake manifold, there's a small stubby pipe that comes from between runner 1and 2, and from 3and 4, on my engine the previous owner has rammed a piece of hose into this hole, then another piece on the the end of that piece, which are then linked together and a few more connections Tee's, and elbows later it finds its way to the other side of the block to a large strange looking thingy under the extractors, i believe this is something to do with the PCV, but i'm not 100% sure, what i wanna know is what is it? what is suppose to be there inplace of the silly rubber hoses?
next question, the distributor for the 18R-GU (image 75) shows that the only parts which appear to limit shaft play are a few o-rings, and a bearing? is that all there is? my distributor is pretty crap atm, need to rebuild it.
and finally, River, i don't suppose you'd happen to have a complete PDF of the images you've attacehd? perhaps even if you could print the thread to PDF would be awesome. just something i can download instead of load from the page...
cheers

Anyone got diagram for the 18R-C engine?
Need to fix mine ...!

I will fill them in, but it takes time to get the info and put it into the thread without getting RSI. So, over the next few days I will populate it.

Blowing dust off of Old Post, This was a great read and thank you for posting this. It came up under a goggle search for a RA40 Engine PDf. Very nice indeed.
