No kidding?! It even says SARD on the box!!! Anyway maybe SARD products are 'sweat shopped' in China anyway? These days business is often dirty in that profit margin seems to be placed beyond anything else.

o had to fix a prob for a customer that bought one and it wasnt a proper sard! he bought it off ebay and it came with a pressure gauge! i ask you, do you ever see new sard injectors at that reduction in price?

Yeah, ain't that the truth. I guess when you buy a genuine one though, at least you've got recourse if it fails...I'll call Aston monday if you like, get a firm price, that was just a second handy...

let us know if your new FPR fixes the problem.

Malpassi are a good reg, you can get them in 1:1 or 1:1.8 rising rate (psi boost to psi fuel). You can get them cheaply from various good sources (ie not ebay). Aeromotive are a good reg as well if you want AN-flare connections. Sard are good, but the genuine ones are expensive because of the jap tuner factor and not much better than a malpassi for flow, etc.

shoulda mentioned i also put in 8mm linesOriginally Posted by oldcorollas
that prolly helped...
so is it your lines or your reg?
i vaguely remember hearing rumours of malpassi's not holding pressure too well, relative to manifold vac/boost.. have you guys with them monitored the rail pressures?

Most people I've spoken to who have used Malpassi's have told me to stay well away. They're known for being inaccurate, especially when large volumes of fuel are involved.
I've heard good things about Sard regulators, or if you want to do it on the cheap you could run a stock FPR at either end of the rail, then drill & tap a hole in the middle of the rail for the fuel inlet.

hmmm, I've only heard good things about malpassi regs, and that was from a bloke who runs a performance workshop here in Wollongong. I figured he knew what he was talking about as he runs a Turbo 6cyl Cortina with an Autronic in the low nines.

ooh crap, recomended a walbro 255 to my cousin with a aw11/beams 3sge stock fuel lines, he's not going to be happy if he reads this thread.
too high of a fuel pressure is going to cuase it to run richer, anything worse likely to happen?

Yup, called Jshop, $199 for a SARD FPR. And prices on random goodies: $175 for big-ass china IC, $199 for hi-flow cat...etc

Hi,
Just though I'd dig this up to share my findings.....
[img=http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/5725/100kwregdz7.th.jpg]
I decided to try this regulator a, 2.9 bar, 100kW 4AGE regulator. All other 4AG(Z)E use a 2.5bar reg with banjo fittings for the low pressure reg outlet.I decided to try it because I had a hunch about this being a lot less restrictive outlet style than the banjo bolt system with two tiny holes etc.
Guess what!! My fuel pressure dropped from around 3.5bar (on the 2.5bar reg) to 2.9 bar @ 14V at the pump with the 2.9bar reg (and down to about 2.5bar at idle). So thats a cheaper fix than a SARD for you guys out there. It cost me $20 for the reg and about $15 for the 3ft of 6.5mm fuel line. Completely bolt on.
Cheers, Nick

ive actually seen a car that when the bonnet was shut it wouldnt run.
open the bonnet made 450hp,close bonnet and it would stall almost magically.
it turned out that his fuel line was being kinked by a bulge in the bonnet every time it was shut.
now wheres my marshmallows![]()
