i had a GZE in an ae92 levin some time ago running factory ECU
it did a very similar thing
would idle fun but as soon as accel was stabbed, it would miss, splutter, falter ect - run like shit. then settle
it turned out to be a BAD GROUND on the head - there was a cable that went from the body of the car to the side of the head where one of the engine pickups/hooks was. it was loose - thats all. tightened - all fine.
