Check the AE101 wiring diagram at club4ag

To me it looks like there are 4 VSVs for the engine.

    1 - VVT, obvious
2 - A/C idle up, wired to ISC pin (black-white wire) and IG 12V
3 - Electrical load idle up, wired to ELE2 pin (black wire) and IG 12V
4 - Parge? VSV, wired to IPV pin (blue - white wire) and IG 12V

It may be any of the above, though I'd say A/C idle up is the most likely candidate.

Also are you sure the vacuum tube heads to the fuel rail, or does it go to a port on the fuel pressure regulator?

EDIT - Of the 2 wires coming out of it, one should go to the ECU and one should go to ignition 12V as described above.
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

those 2 wires should be wired up to the original a/c wires that went to the original ac idle up valve

    who did the wiring

looks like they dont know what the fuk their doin hehehehe

anyway you have to see how much original a/c wiring is left in the car

    otherwise you wil get nowhere

its piss easy to wire up if if you dont rip too much out so ifthe auto elect did the whole job then he doesnt know what to do
if he is just tryin to fix the air con then get him to wire it up to how the std air con was wired up

because they should have kept the factory a/c wiring from the orig engine and refit it

then its just afew wires to get air con to work

but if they have ripped most fo the air con out then expect to pay heaps

thats what you get when you let novices work on your car heheheehehe

In case you still need convincing, it's the A/C idle up valve It's fine to hook it up to the compressor power, but as already said, it should've been hooked up as originally was on the original engine.

I *think* in some setups the A/C idle up valve is controlled by a second output from the A/C amplifier, and the valve is activated just before the compressor, so the engine starts to idle up when the compressor kicks in rather than getting the load first and then getting more air.

The "fuel rail" that the other side of the valve goes to is probably nothing more than the balance/vac pipe between the throttle bodies.

did the car originally have AC, or did you retrofit it from another AE9x?

The plug for that VSV usually comes out of the body loom in the same section as the wiper motor plug.

Have a look inside the guard to see if there's a spare two pin plug taped up to the loom just near the section that branches off for the wiper motor.

AK is as good as anyone at wiring 20V's.

I did find a 2-pin plug taped to the body loom near the wiper plug. B/Y and Bl/R. Looks like that bit of loom goes through the wheel arch.
