What is this thing?

It has 2 hoses that go to the engine. And 2 wires that go nowhere (b&w and some other colour)

Can you get a close up picture of what the hoses go to (other end besides the engine)

I'm gona take a guess and say the pipes are from a vaccum switch (on the firewall) for the A/C idle up. The wires tell it to switch on/off when you switch your AC on/off. could be wrong tho.

Here is a closer look. 1 to the Air Intake after the AFM, the other to the Fuel Rail?
The auto elec who wired up the AC reckoned it wasn't an ilde controller (because that is what I suggested to him) but the car does stall when bouncing to idle now when the Aircon is on sometimes...

Sure it goes to fuel and not vacuum? Pull it off and see if air goes in, or fuel comes out...

its going to vacumn not fuel
id say its a idle control valve for the AC

Looks like a vacuum switch, to partially block the vacuum going to the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail, which will increase the fuel pressure when switched on, running rich and idling up... probably switched from the air con, as previously stated.

Yeah, i can confirm that. Its the idle air control for the aircon. GZEs and 16vs have them too.

this does suggest that your auto-sparkey may have guessed other things - anything else wrong with your car? found a more reliable idiot to ruin the electrics in your vehicle?

Well, now that you mention it. The AC now does not turn off just with the button. You actually have to turn the fan down to 0 to get the AC to disengage. Idiots.

AK did my conversion and SX cluster wiring and they are 100% fine.
