If u suspect its your heater tap, disconnect the heater coolant hose at the back of the block on the passenger side and plug it up with a rubber cap (you can buy from repco or supercheap). That way you can tell whether or not its ur heater.

Run a bypass between your 2 heater hoses till you get the new tap. If it still overheats, then you need to dig deeper, but at least you wont be loosing coolant and killing your carpet.

radiator dudes are replacing therostat and bypassing it now.. but wat doesnt make sense to me is..
i was told the pipe i took a photo of is the heater tap (correct me if im wrong) and if that is blocked or leakin.. how the hell is my passenger carpet wet ? i was told by the radiator pro that its wet coz the heater itself is leakin !
doesnt make sense how it can be the tap, and the water gets to the carpet..
    cheers

the pipe you took a photo of isnt a tap of any sort. IIRC the heater tap for the TA22 is inside the cabin. What you took a photo of appears to be a joiner. Probably somebody with a split hose, had a bit of copper tube and some clamps, and was too stingy to buy a new hose...

The heater tap is usally hidden under a grey plastic cover... Just two screws and it will come off and you'll see if there is a problem
